This month’s guest speaker brings an international flavour, as it’s Claire Alexander from Africa Scotland Business Network and Firecracker events. She’s a GlobalScot, an influencer, high-level competitive sportswoman, and so much more!

Claire is a businesswoman who started in Stirling and ended up in South Africa, and has had in interesting journey along the way. You’ll hear all about this, what she’s learned from it, and also have the opportunity to ask questions.

This month’s meeting is on the 26th of April at the offices of Jackson Moughal in Glasgow from 9.30-11.30am.

March 28th

This month’s networking meeting also incorporates the launch of our 5th Trade Mission to Barbados.

These Missions have been pivotal in highlighting the potential opportunities there are, in trading with Barbados and the wider Caribbean.

The official opening will be conducted by HE Milton Inniss, High Commissioner for Barbados to the UK, and we’ll also hear from previous delegates about their experiences and setting up in Barbados.

As it’s also our regular networking event, look forward to meeting businesses from a wide variety of sectors too.

This month’s meeting is in The Hive, at the business hub at the University of the West of Scotland.

The Hive is a collaboration space and it’s available to the local and wider business community, as well as university students and staff.

A warm welcome awaits, with meeting rooms, modular presentation and plenary spaces, 3D printers and more. If you want to meet with colleagues or potential clients, work quietly or have an informal chat, this great space is ideal for any event.

December 15th

Our Christmas lunch is a time for businesses to relax, get to know each other in a social environment and give a donation to charity.

This year it’s for The Star Project who support vulnerable people with food and other essentials, at a time when they need it the most. The lunch is £25.50 for 3 courses (it’s not free!) and the menu will be emailed when you sign up, together with a paypal link. This has to be done by the week before the event.

There will still be an opportunity to network, so bring your business cards, QR codes or social media links!

This month, Renfrewshire Business Network has partnered with Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce and Clyde Training Solutions. This is a great opportunity to network with a wide range of businesses in a welcoming environment, and introduce your own businesses.

The 4th Trade Mission to Barbados is being launched on the 31st of March at Yotel Glasgow from 9.30-11.30am, followed by lunch.

The presentation will highlight the ease of doing business in the Caribbean, available opportunities for all sectors, and networking with a variety of businesses.

The event is supported by RBN, Invest Barbados, the Department for Trade and Business and officially opened by HE Milton Inniss, Barbados High Commissioner in London.

It’s an opportunity to learn about exporting to the Caribbean, hear from SME’s who are setting up there, and enjoy networking too!
